Social listening
Definition
Social listening is the systematic monitoring of public conversations across social platforms, forums and reviews to track brand mentions, sentiment, competitor activity and emerging category themes.
Its value is in what it catches early — a product complaint gathering momentum, a competitor's launch reaction, a shift in how buyers describe their problem. That intelligence is far more actionable than the sentiment score most tools lead with.
In the GCC, monitoring has to run in Arabic and English simultaneously, including transliterated and dialect spellings of the brand name. Tools configured for English only routinely miss the majority of regional conversation.
